One of Essex’ best known landmarks, The Halfway House has been a part of the South Essex landscape for the best part of a century.

Once an old coach house and stop over en route to Southend. The Halfway House is now a destination in its own right. Owned by the O’Donoghue family for 40 years, The Halfway House, has a warm welcome for all. As a Free House we are able to offer a wide variety of products; boasting fourteen draft beers and craft ales and up to 40 varieties of gin!

Our experienced team of chefs have created our menus with the finest ingredients, sourced locally. We take pride in delivering catering options to an exceptionally high standard. The food we love to eat, is the food we love to serve. Whether you fancy our traditional slow cooked Beef & ale pie or one of our new seasonal dishes, we’re sure there’s something for everyone.
